The festival

Singing against twenty centuries of stone: in Timgad, in the wilaya of Batna, the international music festival invests every summer the Roman archaeological site and its ancient theatre. Born in 1967, organized by the festival's commission with the National Office of Culture and Information and the wilaya of Batna, it makes the musics of Algeria and the world intersect — from rai to chaouie music, from rock to Arabic varieties.

Under the stars of the Aurès, the city of Trajan becomes an open-air scene where history serves as a living setting.
