International Festival of Djembé and Percussions (FID)
Percussions and traditional music · Conakry (Matam), Guinea

The festival
The country of Djembe is resuming its title: Guinea wants to become the world capital of rhythms and percussion. Launched in December 2024 after a long interruption — 24 concerts, Guinean and international groups — the International Festival of Djembé and Percussions returns for a second edition from 8 to 13 December 2026 in Conakry: concerts, creative residences, workshops and professional meetings around the Djembe, the balafon, the kora and flutes.
The implementation is carried out by Circus Baobab, the world-renowned Guinean circus troupe, in the wake of the International Center of Percussions (CIP) and the association Nuits Métis, historical co-organisers. At the launch of the preparations, on 6 June 2026 at the CCFG, the deans Fatou Abu Camara and Famoudou Konaté made the promise sound: six days at the rhythm of the beating heart of Guinea.
