The festival
Created in France in 1982, the Fête de la musique transforms every 21 June the streets, squares, parks and rooms of the whole country into open and free scenes. Amateurs and professionals play all the repertoires, without hierarchy, from classical to rap, from jazz to world music.
Born in Paris, the festival has since spread in more than a hundred countries, with thousands of events each year. In 2026, the Ministry of Culture celebrated jazz in the gardens of the Palais-Royal, with the National Jazz Orchestra for its forty-years and Thomas Dutronc in closing; the next edition will take place on Monday, June 21, 2027.
Good to know
On June 21, all over France: free concerts in the streets, squares, parks and halls. The detailed programme of the edition 2027 will appear in the spring of 2027.
