The festival
Bariloche, Argentinean capital of skiing on Lake Nahuel Huapi, celebrates each winter its Fiesta Nacional de la Nieve. The 55th edition was held from 13 to 16 August 2026.
On the programme, traditions well to her: the Bajada de Antorchas, descent to the torches of the monitors of Cerro Catedral at night fall; the Carrera de Mozos, a frantic race of the servers, plateau in hand; the Concurso de Hacheros, a woodcutters contest; the sweater contest (Concurso del Pullover) and the tortas contest; and, in closing, the election of the Reina Nacional de la Nieve. A mountain festival that combines winter sports, alpine gastronomy and patagonian identity, at the height of the tourist season.
