The festival
At the foot of the Great Caucasus, Gabala becomes an open-air scene every summer. Since 2009, the Gabala International Music Festival, carried by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation with the Baku Ministry of Culture and Academy of Music, has brought together orchestras, soloists and ensembles from Azerbaijan and all over the world. Classical music, chamber music, Mugham and even a ballet gala opening the 15th edition: the mountain is used as a setting for a dialogue of cultures.

Existence and continuity verified at the organizing source: The Heydar Aliyev Foundation (official open page) presents the festival as traditionally organized in Gabala since 2009 and supported the winter component "Winter Tale" in February 2026. The most recent summer edition documented: 15th edition from July 29 to August 3, 2026, opened by a ballet gala (AzerNEWS, national agency). No site specific to the festival or edition 2027 announced: "Occidental period" July–August of the file.
