Garma Festival
Traditional and popular parties · Gulkula (Arnhem Land), Australia
The festival
The Garma Festival is Australia's largest indigenous gathering: four days, from July 31 to August 3, 2026, for its 26th edition, on the ceremonial site of Gulkula, land of the Gumatj clan in Gove Peninsula (Arnhem Land). Organized by the Yothu Yindi Foundation, it mixes miny'tji (art), manikay (song) and bunggul (dance) at the Key Forum, the great national debate on indigenous affairs that attracts leaders and media from across the country. The theme 2026, "Bukmak", means "everyone".
The ticket is all included — tent, meals and transfer from Gove Airport — for a rare immersion in the heart of Yol-u culture.
