The festival
The Goroka Show is Papua New Guinea's largest sing-sing: more than a hundred tribes, in feathers of paradise birds, facial paintings and brilliant bilas, converge towards Goroka, capital of the Eastern Highlands, for three days of dance and singing near Independence Day (16 September). Created in 1956 to peacefully gather the Highlands groups, it celebrates its 70th anniversary from 18 to 20 September 2026 at the National Sports Institute.
Kundu drums, spectacular costumes and tribal pride: this is one of the most extraordinary cultural gatherings on the planet.
You are at a festival, a concert, a village party, a traditional party, a private party — even two or three, on a boat or on a plane? Send us your images: Festival TV analyses them, and if they are broadcast, they pass on with your name in credit. Program in preparation. All the parties of the world interest us: we want to see how different communities celebrate life and manifest their joy.
