The festival

Created in 2016 after the opening sequence of the film Spectre, which imagined a parade of Día de Muertos that did not yet exist, the Gran Desfile became a national rendezvous of the capital. Its 10th edition, announced by the Government of the Ciudad de México via the Secretaría de Cultura, brings together more than 4,000 participants, 12 tanks and 14 compass, from the Reforma to the Zócalo.

On the square, the Ofrenda Monumental is announced from 30 October to 2 November, with a Catrina of more than 32 meters in tribute to the engraver José Guadalupe Posada.
