The festival
The Hibiscus Festival is the emblem carnival of Suva, Fiji's capital: eight days of popular celebration, from August 29 to September 5, 2026, which celebrate the 70th anniversary of the event with a return to its cradle of Albert Park. Thematic nights — youth, Asia, India, iTaukei, Pacific — parade of tanks, markets and kitchen stands lead to the closing ball and coronation of Miss Hibiscus, a contest created to bring the young Fijian women to the spotlight.
The oldest and most beloved of the urban festivals in the South Pacific, a joyful showcase of Fijian multiculturalism.
You are at a festival, a concert, a village party, a traditional party, a private party — even two or three, on a boat or on a plane? Send us your images: Festival TV analyses them, and if they are broadcast, they pass on with your name in credit. Program in preparation. All the parties of the world interest us: we want to see how different communities celebrate life and manifest their joy.
