The festival

Founded in 1999, HIFA — Harare International Festival of the Arts — has long transformed the centre of Harare into a capital of living arts, between music, theatre, dance, poetry, visual arts and cinema. The festival brought together the talents of Zimbabwe and artists from all over the world, and there remains a reference for African multidisciplinary festivals. After a long interruption since the pandemic, its organizers are preparing to return and say they are working to give it lasting foundations.

While waiting for its revival, Harare keeps the memory of a week when the whole city breathed in the rhythm of the scenes.

Good to know

Return announced and postponed in 2026; the organizers are preparing the next edition, without official date to date.

Your images are worth Festivos

You are at a festival, a concert, a village party, a traditional party, a private party — even two or three, on a boat or on a plane? Send us your images: Festival TV analyses them, and if they are broadcast, they pass on with your name in credit. Program in preparation. All the parties of the world interest us: we want to see how different communities celebrate life and manifest their joy.
