International Hair Freezing Contest — Around the Festival

Whitehorse, the capital of Yukon, is a historic city — the Klondike Gold Rush — set on the Yukon River, minutes away from the hot springs where the competition is held.

To see around the festival

Miles Canyon

A few minutes from the centre of Whitehorse, the Yukon River is engulfed by the turquoise basalt cliffs. Robert Lowe's suspension bridge spans the canyon: it is the city's iconic point of view and the departure of beautiful hiking trails along the river.

The S.S. Klondike

Parks Canada's National Historic Site, on the Yukon River: One of the last wheeled-up boats linking Whitehorse to Dawson City during the gold rush. The visit tells the lives of pioneers and Klondike gold researchers.
