The festival
Every summer, the Vienna Antique Theatre (Isère), a Roman amphitheatre of 7,400 seats, becomes one of the capitals of jazz. Created in 1981 under the impulse of Jean-Paul Boutellier, Jazz in Vienna gathers for more than two weeks the legends of the genre and the new voices, at the Théâtre Antique and on about twenty scenes throughout the city. The festival claims more than 200,000 festivalgoers per edition.
