The festival
London Contemporary Music Festival — Founded in 2013 "to offer a home to the eclectic music lover", LCMF presented ten festivals hailed by critics and created more than 100 works, alongside artists such as Julius Eastman, Pauline Oliveros, Mica Levi, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Jennifer Walshe or Moor Mother. In 2016, it organized the first world retrospective dedicated to composer Julius Eastman; in 2018, it founded the LCMF Orchestra, dedicated to composers who had never written for orchestra and ambitious spatialized works.
In 2025, LCMF became a charity (charity) and a biennial festival in 2022, and presented a unique concert at Wigmore Hall, around the musical prehistory of artificial intelligence. Its official website announces the next full festival for the winter of 2026, with no exact dates to date: this sheet will be updated as soon as they are published. The festival is directed by Igor Toronyi-Lalic, Jack Sheen and Antonia Blocker.
