The festival
Every fall, the London Literature Festival makes the Southbank Centre the capital of books and ideas: it is the oldest literary and speech festival in London, born in 2007, the year of the reopening of the Royal Festival Hall. Its 19th edition, in 2026 — the year of the 75th anniversary of the house and the National Year of Reading — is placed under the precinct of Dua Lipa, founder of the Service95 Book Club, which programmes its established and emerging favourite writers.
Readings, conversations, poetry and free events are being held between Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall and Purcell Room. Another way for Meltdown's house to have the scenes and pages discussed.
