MACUFE — Mangaung African Cultural Festival

The festival

In Bloemfontein — Mangaung — MACUFE, Mangaung African Cultural Festival, is the major cultural festival of the Free State, led by the provincial Department of Sports, Arts, Culture and Recreation. Launched in 2025 after a pause, it deploys in September, Heritage Month in South Africa, a generous program: music, theatre, dance, humor, poetry, cinema, literature and gospel. Local and public artists meet there to celebrate the country's cultures and to make live the stage of the province.
