The festival

Melbourne International Comedy Festival has been hosting Melbourne every austral fall since its debut in 1987; its 40th anniversary was celebrated in 2026. Nearly 800 shows — stand-up, sketch, improvisation and cabaret — have been investing in the theatres of the entire city for almost four weeks.
