The festival
The Mussem of Tan-Tan brings together the nomadic tribes of the Sahara around the Saharan-Hassani traditions, and since 2008 it has been listed on the UNESCO representative list of intangible cultural heritage of humanity. Organized by the Almuggar Foundation under the High Patronage of King Mohammed VI, its 19th edition is held from 30 October to 3 November 2026, around the theme "The Mussem of Tan-Tan, human heritage and bridge of cultural exchange".
Dromadary races, Tbourida, Meharist parades, tribal gatherings, Hassani poetry and musical evenings in Tan-Tan and El Ouatia: the desert speaks all its languages. The United Arab Emirates is the privileged partner of this edition.
