Chiffon of the engagement of Imilchil

The festival

At an altitude of nearly 2,200 metres, in the Eastern High Atlas, Imilchil hosts the engagement Mussem every year, in the territory of Aït Hdiddou. Legend has it that the tears of two lovers of rival tribes, prevented from getting married, gave birth to the lakes Isli and Tislit, "the fiancé" and "the fiancée" in Amazigh.

The 2026 edition, organized by the association Akhiam with the communes of Bouzmou and Imilchil, was held from 1 to 3 October: traditional ceremony of collective marriage, trade fair of crafts and local products, animations for young people. A mountain festival where you come to meet each other and celebrate.
