The festival
In Jeddah, in the historic Al-Balad district, the Red Sea International Film Festival has become the major Red Sea Film Festival event. It is held by the Red Sea Film Foundation and celebrates filmmakers from Saudi Arabia, the Arab world, Asia and Africa, between competitions, previews, short films and professional markets. Its 2025 edition was held in December, with a dense programme of films from all over the world.
The sixth edition, originally scheduled for December 2026, was postponed to the fourth quarter of 2027 by the Foundation, which promises a return with a renewed vision — the exact dates still to be announced.
