Focus Burkina: Mory Touré report opens the antenna
On October 22, at the Cité de la Musique, the "Focus Burkina" evening brought five Burkina Faso artists to showcasing in front of the professionals gathered for the REMA. Our Festival Explorer Mory Touré The concert and interviews of Fereke Wassa, Elue 111 and Eunice Goula.
The festival
Ouagadougou is not just a cinema: every fall, the capital of Burkina Faso is also the capital of African music ideas. The REMA — African Musical Meetings — has been gathering professionals who run the machine since 2018: producers, broadcasters, managers, artists, media and platforms. Three days of panels, training and business meetings, extended in the evening by showscasing and the REMA Play concerts.
For their 9th edition, from October 22 to 24, 2026, the REMAs ask the question that obsesses a whole generation of artists: how can millions of "collowers" be transformed into real audiences, tickets sold and revenues? With a Burkina Focus that puts five talents of the country in the showcase, a forum on artificial intelligence and a boot camp of music with the image led by Cameroonian Blick Bassy, Ouaga confirms that it is one of the thinking — and festive — heads of music on the continent.
