Roof of the World Festival
Traditional and popular parties · Khorog, Tajikistan
The festival
In Khorog, capital of Upper Badakhchan in the heart of Pamir — the "roof of the world" — the festival of the same name brings together mountain cultures. Created to bring together the traditions of Pamir, Tajikistan and neighbouring countries, it brings together singers, dancers and artisans at the city's central park, between traditional music and new fusions. Its 12th international edition was held from July 26 to 28, 2019, with artists from several regions and abroad.
The festival bears a simple conviction: cultural diversity, lived in music, strengthens mutual understanding and peaceful coexistence.
