The festival
Shambala is one of the most beloved independent festivals in the UK — not to be confused with its quasi-homonymous Canadian, the Shambhala Music Festival of Salmo, which has its own catalogue record. Born in 2000 and long organized in a secret place in Northamptonshire, he now settles in Kelmarsh Hall, under a motto that says everything: Adventures in Utopia, adventures in utopia.
For four days, the festival has more than 35 scenes and venues and more than 500 events: concerts (world music, folk, reggae, jazz, electro), shows, debates, workshops, well-being and the famous Saturday disguised parade, where everyone plays the game. Deeply family, Shambala is also a green pioneer: 100% meat-free since 2016, it became the first British festival to cook and heat up entirely with biogas in 2025.
The 2025 edition, its 25th anniversary, was complete; the 2026 edition was held from August 27 to 30, 2026. Elected Independent Festival of the Year at the UK Festival Awards 2025, Shambala is already meeting from Thursday 26 to Sunday 29 August 2027 in Kelmarsh — tickets are on sale on the official website.
