The festival
Founded in 2010 by filmmaker Chike C. Nwoffiah, the Silicon Valley African Film Festival showcases cinema from Africa and its diaspora — 'Africa through the African lens'. Its 2026 edition presented 76 films from 33 countries: screenings, red carpet, panels, masterclasses, an African market and an awards ceremony. On October 11, 2026, the festival presented its Cultural Icon Award, its highest honour, to Gambian kora player Sona Jobarteh.

You are at a festival, a concert, a village party, a traditional party, a private party — even two or three, on a boat or on a plane? Send us your images: Festival TV analyses them, and if they are broadcast, they pass on with your name in credit. Program in preparation. All the parties of the world interest us: we want to see how different communities celebrate life and manifest their joy.
