The festival

Toronto is making its red carpet, with the public choosing its favourites, and the People's Choice Award is making Hollywood dream. Founded in 1976, one of the world's largest film festivals open to the public: its People's Choice Award has become the most reliable springboard to the Oscars. The closing film 2026: a biopic on Quebec driver Gilles Villeneuve.
