Toronto Black Film Festival (TBFF)
Black Cinema from All over the World, February Every Day in Toronto · Toronto, Ontario, Canada
The festival
Each February, at the heart of Black History Month, Toronto is giving the floor to black filmmakers from around the world. Created in 2013 by the Fabienne Colas Foundation, the Toronto Black Film Festival held its 14th edition from February 11 to 16, 2026, with 65 films from 15 countries — African, Caribbean, African American and Black — a tribute to director Stanley Nelson and the career achievement awards presented to Shamier Anderson and Stephan James.
The Toronto-based TBFF, founded by the same foundation, is the Toronto-based event: another city, another season, its own history.
Good to know
The TBFF is dedicated to discovery and diversity: films, debates, TBFF Black Market for professionals and TBFF Kids Film Festival for the re-emergence. Inaugural edition presented by Global Toronto from February 13 to 17, 2013. Official contacts published: [email protected]; press: [email protected]. Ticketing via the official website. Don't confuse with the Montreal International Black Film Festival (FIFBM), its brother festival of September, already in the catalogue.
