The festival
Ouidah opens the year in large numbers: for eight days, the historic capital of Vodun becomes the first international event of vodun arts, culture and spirituality. Concerts, ceremonies, dances of Egungun and Zangbeto, arts and encounters on the Atlantic coast, between Place Maro and the Gate of the Non-Return: Benin celebrates its roots there — and shares them with the world, including diasporas.
The 2026 edition brought together 740,668 participants (INstaD): proof that a feast born of ancestral spirituality now radiates on a planetary scale.

Open call: Benin Tourism recruits the restaurant owners of the Food Court of Vodun Days 2027 (Place Maro, Ouidah) — presence during the 8 days of the festival, capped rates, a Beninese signature dish required. Applications opened since 15 October 2026; closing on 10 November 2026 at 5.30 pm, via the official form (tally.so/r/kdDXpZ); results end November 2026, after tasting the preselected.
