Windhoek /Ae //Gams Arts & Cultural Festival

The festival

Created in 2001 by the City of Windhoek, the /Ae //Gams Arts & Cultural Festival celebrates the cultural diversity of the Namibian capital, whose historic name it bears — "steam place", in memory of Windhoek's hot springs. Parade, drums, dances and theatres from all the communities of the country, handcrafted crafts, visual arts and traditional cuisine transform the city centre into an open stage.

The 2025 edition, under the theme "The charm goes beyond what you see", was held on 26 and 27 April. A municipal and popular festival, where Windhoek shows himself in all his cultures at once.
