Windhoek Oktoberfest

The festival

Windhoek has been taking his chances for 65 years on the last weekend of October: the Oktoberfest of Sport Klub Windhoek in the Olympia district is the most authentic of the Oktoberfest outside Germany. The band Die Kirchdorfer comes especially from Bavaria — the same one playing in Munich — the Festbier is brewed according to the law of purity of 1516, and the Fassanstich, the piercing of the first cask, opens two days of traditional music, games and costumes.
