The festival

Every February, Whitehorse hunts the cabin fever with the Yukon Sourdough Rendezvous: born of the post-war winter carnivals and officially launched in 1962, the festival celebrates the Yukon's border spirit with axe, chainsaw throw, fuzzy packaging and leaven pancakes, among coronations, Can-Can and the Sourdough Sam contest. Its 2026 edition, its 62nd anniversary, stretched from February 6 to 22.
