35 trophies and AI at the heart of the game: the Victoires de la Musique Guinéenne launch their 8th act
Guinea has a date with its stars: the 8th Victoires de la Musique Guinéenne were officially launched on November 3 in Conakry. The ceremony takes place on December 18 at the Hôtel Kaloum, with 35 trophies at stake — and a special guest in the debates: artificial intelligence.

Conakry (Guinea), November 3, 2026. The launch press conference, held at the Hôtel Kaloum, unveiled the main directions of this 8th edition, placed under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Handicrafts. The chosen theme: 'AI in the service of culture: impacts and opportunities for Africa' — Guinean music turns to the tool that is already transforming creation.
35 trophies, and new features
35 trophies will be awarded across 25 categories, including five 'Trophées de l'excellence'. New in 2026: a 'Best fashion, style and design creator' category, opening the Victoires to the image and style professions. The edition will also celebrate 30 years of Guinean hip-hop, honoured with five special trophies.
A week of music before the ceremony
Ahead of the ceremony, the Salon de la musique (Music Fair) will gather professionals on December 15 and 16 at the Centre culturel franco-guinéen (CCFG): networking, masterclasses and showcases, with guests from France, Senegal, Mali, Tunisia and Côte d'Ivoire. Voting will combine the public (55%) and the jury (45%) — with a new feature this year: public votes will be paid.
