In Quebec City, the heritage is dancing: the Rendez-vous ès TRAD have made the Domaine de Maizerets watch over!
Violins, spoons, feet that beat the measure and three generations on the same dance floor: the Rendez-vous ès TRAD held their 35th edition from October 8 to 12, 2026 at Domaine de Maizerets, in Quebec City — the kind of festival Festival TV exists to highlight!
Organized by the Centre de valorisation du patrimoine vivant, this autumn event celebrates Québec traditions... living them for real. On the menu: dance vigils where the public becomes an actor, "jute sung" — a game of improvisation with traditional songs —, ephemeral trios where the artists of the programming mix for a show that will only exist once, workshops of spinning wool, sung hiking, aperos told and end-of-night jams under the great capital.
With over 37 artists — Nicolas Pellerin and Les Grands Hurleurs, Olivier Soucy, Laura Risk and many others — and more than 60% of free activities (it's free for all 11 and under!), the Rendez-vous ès TRAD has been proving since 1991 that a heritage is not preserved under glass: it's a song, it's a dance, it's a pass. See you next fall, around Thanksgiving — the dates 2027 will be announced by the CVPV.
