Mawazine: the giant of Rabat that makes millions of festivalgoers dance!

Created in 2001 by the Moroccan Cultures association, Mawazine has established itself as one of the world's largest music festivals: in 2019, it brought together 2.75 million spectators, a world record. The principle is a rare generosity: the festival belongs to everyone. International stars ignite the OLM Souissi scene, African rhythms beat on the Bouregreg scene, oriental voices resonate at the Nahda Space, and the ancient Chellah site welcomes the music of the world in a legendary setting.

The 21st edition, from June 19 to 27, 2026, once again transformed Rabat and Salé into the world capital of music, between heritage repertoires, popular songs, African rhythms and planetary headlines. Here, a grandmother came to listen to a diva from the tarab, who was a young girl, who was in trance in front of a pop star: that's what Mawazine magic is about — diversity, tolerance and sharing, in version XXL.

The 2027 dates are not yet announced, but one thing is certain: at the end of June Rabat will become the centre of the musical world again. Festival TV will be there!
