OGA THE SLAMOR: THE NIGER'S PAROLE BARKS AT THE FESTIVAL SAHEL!

His name is Chaibou Nori Ousseini, but all Niger knows him under the name OGA THE SLAMOR. Orphaned from a young age, he has transformed the test into a force: pen and speech have become his weapon and voice. Since 2017, he has been on stage with the cause of street children and orphans, and challenges the Nigerian society — and far beyond — on the great stakes of our time.

In 2022, his talent was consecrated: he was named Best Artist Slameur of Niger. An acknowledgement that had nothing to chance for this committed artist, for whom the slam is an act of citizen speech as well as a performance.

A scene cut for him

From 30 October to 8 November 2026, in Niamey and Maradi, the Sahel Festival & Musiques du Monde will hold its 8th edition under the theme "Voice of the Sahel: for peace and life together". It is difficult to imagine a voice more in line with this theme than that of OGA LE SLAMEUR: at home, each text is an advocacy for dignity, solidarity and peace.

At the Leisure in the Sahel, behind the CCOG in Niamey, the public will be able to discover an artist who not only recites texts: he tells a country, his wounds and his hopes, with the fergue of the one who knows what he is talking about.

The Sahel Festival continues to unveil a programme that brings together the cultures of the Sahel and the world.
