Tons of Rock 2027: Faith No More choose Oslo for their big comeback
After ten years away from the stage, Faith No More will play only a handful of shows in 2027 — and one of them will be in Oslo. Tons of Rock has unveiled 14 new names for its June 23-26, 2027 edition, including Scorpions and Slash. Day tickets go on presale on Thursday.
The comeback all of rock was waiting for
Faith No More have not played a concert since 2016. In 2027, Mike Patton's band will play only a handful of dates — the Maracanã in Rio, Rock am Ring… and Ekebergsletta, the Oslo plain where Tons of Rock sets up its stages. The band will headline on Friday, June 25, 2027. “Faith No More have been at the very top of our wish list since we started in 2014,” says festival director Jarle Kvåle.
Scorpions and Slash complete the wave
Another first: Scorpions will play Tons of Rock for the first time, headlining Saturday, June 26 alongside Judas Priest. The second wave announced on Tuesday counts 14 names: Slash featuring Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators, Pierce the Veil — playing their very first concert in Norway — Canada's Simple Plan, Oslo Ess, Soen, Overkill, Borknagar, Wage War, Green Lung, Múr, Clawfinger and Speed. They join Mötley Crüe, Turnstile, Helloween, Amon Amarth and Satyricon, announced back in September.
Four days, 150,000 festival-goers
Founded in 2014, Tons of Rock has become Norway's biggest rock and metal festival: four days in the open air and around 150,000 visitors a year. The 2026 edition sold out months in advance, and 2027 passes are already going fast — prices rise on November 1.
