Anachnid
Multidisciplinary artist, electronic musician and singer — electro-pop, indie, trap, electronic and pop
Biographie
Anachnid is a Montreal-based, multi-disciplinary artist, Oji-Cry. She grew up mainly in the Atikamekw territory of western Quebec, with her spider stage name, her totem animal, whose multiple personalities she says she is on stage. Her hybrid music mixes electro-pop, indie, trap, soul and hip-hop, with sound textures that evoke her ancestral cultures. She sings mainly in English and sometimes incorporates native languages into her songs. Her first album, "Dreamweaver", appeared in February 2020.
She then published the singles "Live Alone" and "Love Alone", and then the EP instrumental "Frek of Nature" in the fall of 2023.
