Cheikh Lô

The positive and verified news of Cheikh Lô: concerts, outputs, distinctions and projects — the writing of Festival TV only retains confirmed information, in a spirit of celebration.

2025 — "Maame", number 1 of the world charts. The new album by Cheikh Lô, Maame (World Circuit), dominated the Transglobal World Music Chart in October 2025 and then the World Music Charts Europe in November: at 70 years old, Baye Fall signed one of the world albums of the year.

2026-07-05 — The triumphal return to the Afrika Festival Hertme. Twenty years after her first visit, Sheikh Lô found the scene of the Afrika Festival Hertme in the Netherlands on 5 July 2026: Born Thiass and Bamba Sunu Goorgui live, as on the first day.

2026 — The BBC in its pantheon. His performance of Degg Gui, with Flavia Coelho and Fixi, on BBC's Later... with Jools Holland program remains one of Sheikh Lô's most beautiful business cards: the spiritual mbalax in British prime time.
