Biographie

In her real name Marie Ouria Tolno, Queen Rima was born in 1997 in Conakry. Singer, composer, performer and dancer, she was recognized as the first Guinean woman to be dedicated exclusively to dancehall — a style that was then dominated by men — and was named "Queen of Guinean Dancehall". She sang in subsou, pular, French and English, and defended in her texts the place of women, in society and in music.

She began with hip-hop dance: in 2012, she created the group Tocksai Girls, of which she is the conductor and choreographer. She began singing solo, and in 2015 she launched her first single, "Stop", then "Asouayi" (2016), with Singleton and One Time — prize for the best collaboration with Maxi Zik 2016. Her EP "Temperature" appeared on 12 March 2022: five songs sung in soussou, French, English and national languages, including "Boss Up" and "Business", with King Alasko.

The finalist of the RFI Discovery Prize in 2022 and 2023, she won it in 2025: the jury, chaired by Angélique Kidjo, declared the winner on 17 February 2025 — the second Guinean woman to win this prize, after Sia Tolno. In February 2026, UNICEF named her National Champion for Child Protection in Guinea. She was on the poster of the 72H from TRACE Africa, in Conakry, November 2026.
