The festival
In Niamey, the voices of the Sahel are raised for peace and for living together. The great rendezvous of the world of Niger's music: its 8th edition, under the theme "Voice of the Sahel: for peace and living together", brings together in Niamey the voices of the Sahel and elsewhere. Official confirmation: DIAS (Diassibo Chiombiano), musician, painter and founder of the Gallery Taweydo in Niamey, creator of Liptaako Reggae — a unique style that combines committed reggae, rock, blues and traditional music of the Sahel.
Second confirmed artist: BOUBÉ POULLO, artist of Maradi, whose first title "JONNDE JAM" defends pulaaku — the moral and cultural heritage of the peul people: dignity, patience, modesty, self-control and respect for others — in a contemporary popul style; he will perform in Niamey and Maradi during the festival.
Third confirmed artist: OGA LE SLAMEUR (Chaibou Nori Ousseini), the slameur who made his pen a weapon for street children and orphans — sacred Best Artist Slameur du Niger in 2022. Fourth confirmed voice: PRINCESSE DIABATÉ, singer of Burkina Faso, heir to Manding Wassolo, author of the album "Tilé Koura", between African tradition and modernity. Information: 96 99 06 43.
An event hosted by the Association for the Emergence of the Nigerian and African Culture, AECA, sponsored by the Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture of Niger. The song for peace born during the 2018 festival caravan, presented by Music In Africa, is to be heard on this page.
