The 8th edition of the Sahel Festival & Musiques du Monde welcomes a voice from Burkina Faso: Princess Diabaté, heiress of Manding Wassolo, between African tradition and modernity.
There are voices that tell a terroir. Princess Diabaté's voice is vibrating the enchanting sounds of Manding Wassolo, a musical stream of Wassoulou who has been carrying the words of griots for generations and the memory of the Mandingues. At her home, the African heritage does not sleep in a museum: it combines itself with the present, with an assumed modernity.
The author of the album "Tilé Koura", Princess Diabaté carries committed messages that value our common culture. Her music speaks of identity, dignity and transmission — exactly the spirit of this 8th edition of the Sahel Festival.

From 30 October to 8 November 2026, in Niamey and Maradi (Niger), the Sahel Festival & Musiques du Monde will bring together the cultures of the Sahel and the world under the theme "Voice of the Sahel: for peace and living together". At the Leisures of the Sahel, behind the CCOG in Niamey, Princess Diabaté's Burkinabe scene promises one of these moments when music becomes a common language, across borders.
After DIAS, Boubé Poullo and OGA LE SLAMEUR, the programming of this 8th edition continues to draw a plural, proud and open Sahel on the world.
