It's an official: DIAS confirmed at the Sahel Festival 2026, Niamey
Niamey, at the end of October: the heat of the day falls, the instruments agree, and a voice will rise for peace. DIAS (Diassibo Chiombiano), creator of Liptaako Reggae, is confirmed at the 8th edition of the Sahel Festival & Musiques du Monde, from 30 October to 8 November 2026 in Niamey.
Imagine the scene: in Niamey, on the site of Leisure in the Sahel, behind the CCOG, a whole festival is preparing to sing the life together. The Sahel Festival & Musiques du Monde has just confirmed the presence of DIAS (Diassibo Chiombiano) at its 8th edition, which will be held from 30 October to 8 November 2026 in Niamey, Niger. A voice from the Sahel, for the Sahel — and for the world that listens to it.
The theme of this edition is "Voice of the Sahel: for peace and living together." The event is sponsored by the Niger's Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture, Mr Sidi Mohamed Almahmoud, and led by AECA — the Association for the Emergence of Nigerian and African Culture.
DIAS is not an artist like any other: musician and painter, founder of the Taweydo Gallery in Niamey, he is the creator of Liptaako Reggae, a unique style that combines committed reggae, rock, blues and traditional music from the Sahel. A music that talks about his people, river and land — exactly the kind of voice that Festival TV likes to amplify.
A deep-rooted Sahel festival that brings together peace: meet as early as October 30.
