SAHEL FESTIVAL 2026 : BOUBÉ POULLO MAKES VERY LARMES TO ANTIANS !
Maradi, Niamey: When "JONNDE JAM" sounded for the first time, some elders cried. Boubé Poullo, contemporary popular voice defending pulaaku, is the second artist confirmed at the 8th edition of the Sahel Festival & Musiques du Monde, from October 30 to November 8, 2026, in Niamey and Maradi.
There are songs that entertain, and there are songs that awaken a memory. When Boubé Poullo performed "JONNDE JAM" for the first time, older people were touched to tears. An unforgettable moment — the one when Maradi's artist understood that his music could preserve collective memory and pass on a legacy to the younger generations.
His first title defends the pulaaku, the moral and cultural heritage of the Peul people: dignity, patience, modesty, self-control and respect for others. With his contemporary peul style, Boubé Poullo brings to dialogue tradition and modernity — a song to awaken the pulaaku, at the heart of a festival that carries the "Voice of the Sahel: for peace and living together".
After DIAS, it is a second voice of the Sahel that is confirmed at the 8th edition of the Sahel Festival & Musiques du Monde: Boubé Poullo will be listening from 30 October to 8 November 2026, in Niamey and Maradi.
