Biographie
Richard Verdieu, says Richy Jay, is a singer born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and based in Montreal. He grew up in a family where music was omnipresent. His universe is inspired by Afro-Caribbean rhythms — zuk, kompa and Afropop — and his texts focus on life and love. Artist in stewardship at Tolalito Music, of which he is also assistant director and marketing manager, he sings in Haitian Creole, French, English and Spanish. After "Caribbean Soul" (2019) and "Le temps" (2022), he published "Recto Verso" on 5 April 2024. In 2024, he gave more than 30 performances, including the Acoustic Cabaret Nuits d'Afrique at Club Balattou in Montreal.
