Tinariwen is a Tuareg collective founded in 1979 in the Adrar des Ifoghas, in northern Mali.
Pioneers of the sauve — "nostalgia" in tamasheq — they mix desert traditions, blues and electric rock with hypnotic sound that has become a world signature.
Their album "Tassili" won the Grammy Award for Best World Music Album in 2011, and the band was named three times to the Grammy Awards.
With over 1,270 concerts across the globe and collaborations from Kurt Vile to Jack White, Tinariwen is preparing her tenth studio album and a tour that will include Europe, North America, Asia and Australia.
