Brunswick Greek Festival
Community Greek Festival — Cooking, Music and Dance · Brunswick, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
Small
The festival
There are streets that change countries for a day: when Brunswick Greek Festival opens its doors at 279 Albion Street, no need for a plane ticket to Athens — Greece is there, in the smoke of grills, the warm honey of the Loukoumades and the dance circles that form as if by magic. Behind this party, neither promoter nor big machine: the volunteers of St Eleftherios parish and the Greek Community of Melbourne, who are re-rolling their sleeves to open their neighborhoods to the whole world.
In the first edition, thousands of people responded: more than 500 kilos of lamb and chicken went in souvlaki, more than 1,000 coffees served and more than 4,600 golden loukoumads soaked in honey. In the program 2026: souvlaki on the grill, live group and DJ, Greek dances, homemade cakes, market stalls and raffles — and for the children of the first edition, the small animal farm and the real truck of firefighters in the neighborhood to climb.
