First edition — Dioila celebrates Banico · Dioila, Dioila region, Mali
The festival
Dioila, in southern Mali, is launching its festival: the International Festival of Banico, Festibanico, will hold its first edition from 13 to 15 November 2026. The event, carried by the daughters and sons of the territory, under the chairmanship of Moussa Coulibaly, aims to enhance the cultural heritage and tourist potential of the Dioila region, Mali's 13th administrative region.
Its theme is ambition: "the challenges of valuing and promoting the cultural and tourist potential of the Dioila region".
Good to know
Officially launched on October 20, 2026 at the Dioïla governorate, under the high patronage of the regional governor, Major General Kèba Sangaré. On the programme: art exhibitions, shows, folk dances, panel debates, a fair, storytelling sessions, traditional wrestling and tourist visits. The festival is meant as a prelude to Mali's next Artistic and Cultural Biennale, where Dioïla, second in 2025, is aiming for first place. Festival infoline: +223 76 04 21 83.
