Festival of Black Divinities
Culture and spirituality — vodun heritage · Aného-Glidji, Prefecture of the Lakes, Togo
Micro
The festival
Between the lagoon and the ocean, Aného-Glidji is once again the capital of traditions: drums, songs and processions in honour of black deities. Created in 2006 by the association Acofin, the festival celebrates and transmits the African cultural and spiritual heritage — vodun ceremonies, dances and meetings between guardians of traditions.
For its 11th edition, Côte d'Ivoire is the country in honour, with a spotlight on Kouto, in northern Côte d'Ivoire, and Brazil is expected: a living bridge between Africa and its Afro-descending diasporas, where memory crosses the Atlantic in both directions.
