Karayib Festival of LaSalle
Caribbean Cultures — Community Festival · LaSalle, Montreal, Quebec, Canada
Small
The festival
A park on the Aqueduc Canal, white tents under the autumn leaves, and the air of Montreal that suddenly tastes Barbados and the islands: Karayib, it's the Caribbean festival offered to a whole neighborhood. Nine artists, two DJs, a youth zone, four food kiosks and the Trade Passport, which opens right to tastings — fish cakes bajans, doubles, patties offered on grill, coconut water and sugar cane. On the small lawn scene, MR. BOOM!
Holds the microphone and Selecta Road Warrior Blondi turns the plates, while the children lift the face makeup and the Caribbean flags float over the families. A festival carried by volunteers from the community, under the theme "Culture, Community, Unity": exactly the kind of appointment that Festival TV exists to highlight.
