The festival
In Carleton-sur-Mer, between Baie des Chaleurs and the Chic-Chocs Mountains, La Virée Trad has been beating the heart of the Gaspesian living heritage since 2001. Organized and programmed by Maximum 90, Carleton-sur-Mer's multidisciplinary broadcaster, the festival celebrated its 25th edition from October 9 to 11, 2026, on the weekend of Thanksgiving, in front of more than 7,850 festivalgoers.
The program includes 15 traditional music, song, dance and storytelling shows — Quebec, Acadians, Mi-Gmaq and international guests — a traditional dance vigil, a folk encounter, workshops (violin, gigue, podorhythmia) and the public market presented as the largest in the Gaspé region. The 26th edition is announced from Friday 8 to Sunday 10 October 2027.
