The festival
In Ambert, in the heart of Livradois-Forez, the World Festival Ambert has been dancing the whole world since 1989. The festival, which was hosted by the Livradoué-Dansaïre association, is a 100% voluntary and independent festival that hosts more than 30,000 festivalgoers every summer on the Prairie, on the edge of the water. Since its creation, 100 countries have been welcomed and more than 7,850 artists have performed there; the festival has received the patronage of UNESCO in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2020 and 2025, and has been CIOFF since 1999.
Three scenes are held every three days: the Grande Scène, which gathers up to 9,000 festivalgoers in front of the headlines; the Chapiteau, dedicated to traditional dances and music on five continents; and the Petite Scène, on the waterfront, dedicated to emerging talents.
