A 100% community-run festival, born in 1989

The World Festival Ambert has been run since 1989 by the Livradoué-Dansaïre association: a 100% community-run, independent festival welcoming more than 30,000 festival-goers per edition in the heart of the Livradois-Forez. Since it began, 100 countries have been welcomed and more than 7,850 artists have performed. The festival received UNESCO patronage in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2020 and 2025, and has held the CIOFF label since 1999.

Three stages, a village, a before

Three stages set the pace over the three days: the Grande Scène for the headliners, the Chapiteau for traditional dance and music from the five continents — the festival's historic heart — and the Petite Scène, by the water, for emerging talent. The festival Village opens from 4 p.m., and Le Before livens up Ambert and its surroundings from July 14, the day before the opening.
